I am giving this book 5 stars unto itself. Other than the movie and some documentaries and so forth, this is the first writing of Gandhi's I've read and I liked his voice and style. This is not what I percieve to be a comprehensive guide to health but a guide covering some broad subjects he felt passionate about. (In other words, you're not going to be looking up the alphabetized solution to diaper rash here.) I did not agree wholeheartedly with every line he wrote, but am taking those things into further consideration. For instance, could an Inuit survive with robust health on a fruit diet? I am skeptical of that. He does brush over some thoughts on this too. But I did find his thoughts on fever and even bubonic plague and the "cure" for those very interesting. Gandhi obviously spent a lot of time in his life thinking about health, observing it, studying it, and apparently working with the sick to some degree, and given his thoughtfulness on other subjects of humanity, I think this book bears some serious consideration. You have to consider that he lived in India and the historical time in which he was writing, although certain truths will always hold forth. I might consider picking up other versions of this as even the translator complains that he had to translate this with great haste. I would be curious to compare editions. If you are really interested in health, I think this would be a nice addition to your library.Product details

Gandhi gives a great deal of food for thought...
it didn't help me at all it is very cofusing.it makes no sense.i was trying to learn a little bit about cancer and it did not help.
Loved it. This book warmed my heart.
This is the first book of Gandhi's I ever read in it's entirety. An unexpectedly fantastic introduction to one of the greatest thinkers to ever live. Amazingly practical.
good
Good easy read, worth the money! Very well written. I will recommend it to friends. While the info is out dated
It can still very well be applied.
I didn't know Mahatma Gandhi wrote a book on health. He does emphasize that he had no formal medical training, yet the information he presents here still holds true today. Some of the points are old wives' tales, but that doesn't distract from the information.
